Castile NY, Wyoming County, about three miles from the
picturesque, Letchworth State Park, the Grand Canyon of the
east.
We are surrounded by some of the largest dairy farms in the
country, and endless supply of forest.
The first generation of our business was the founder of our
construction company, Dwight Harder, and I later joined with
him to become Dwight Harder and Son Construction.
I began cutting firewood in the early 70's with my father to
heat our home (and i probably wasn't much help...LOL) Over the
years I grew to enjoy our time in the woods and the chance to
get back to nature. I started selling firewood 12 years ago
while construction was slow during the winter months. Now we
have to make time to get to the woods. My father still helps
me in the woods every chance he gets. My son Robert is an
invaluable help and is always ready to cut wood. My wife,
Barbara, and our other five children: Brandi, Kassi, Ryan, Lorin
and Matthew also are a very great help, and enjoy our trips to
the woods, even though it can be a long, hard days work.
